I left for a year and a half. I was in sales. Accepted a commission only based job only so that I could say I actually was working again as I continued my job search, since no one was hiring me. I was surprised that no one would hire me because during the time that I was not working I completed by MBA. Two days after I was hired but before I started working they found money in the budget to hire me with a base salary. That base salary was lower than what I was making when I left the work force but I was okay with it because it was a much more low key job. [ Reply | More ]

>>> (oops!) I'm really glad I didn't leave then as I feel emboldened to be more flexible with my schedule now - and I know this is time dd will remember (as opposed to time when she was a little helpless bundle). [ Reply | More ]
