it's actually not a bad age to travel with. nurse, nurse, nurse - especially during take-off and descent (the sucking helps with the discomfort from air pressure changes). also, we found it helpful to give a dose of infant mylicon drops (anti-gas) before take off and descent as well (gas sometimes results from pressure changes). yw - it will be fine. people are really a little in awe (frightened?) of the wee ones so tend to be more tolerant than when db gets older... [ Reply | More ]

You'll be okay! They're very portable at this age. Try to minimize the stuff you take on board: maybe just baby in a carrier (Bjorn or sling) and a diaper bag/backpack with diaper supplies, snacks for you, change of clothes, wallet. And nurse often--it's soothing for baby and helps with pressure. Don't bother bringing a book for yourself, unless it's a long flight and dh is there to hold baby. [ Reply | More ]

I was so freaked out about traveling when we first did it and it was all for nothing--he slept almost the whole way. I agree with the poster who said nurse as much as possible. I was amazed by how friendly fellow passengers and the flight crew were--most have been there already and sympathize! [ Reply | More ]
