I don't think it's sweet at all. I want my dh to love and prioritize our children above anything else. Doesn't mean he can't love, cherish and pamper me. But children deserve that kind of love from BOTH parents, not just mothers. [ Reply | More

I don't think this is a male/female mother/father thing. I think it is a world view thing. (In other words, this is about me not men in general.) My belief is that when we got married I committed to making my wife my first priority. I stood before her and everyone I cared about and said that forsaking all others, I would be there for her. I would take care of her. (Not in some 1950's June and Ward Cleaver way but at some very basic level.) I take that obligation seriously. I also love her differently than I love my kids. And a very selfish part of me wants her there by my side. To share my days till we are both old and gray. That said, I'd save my kids because of what I said above. [ Reply | More
