low 90s ERB score--performance not as good as verbal-- but really good write up. Realistically, where should I apply DD for K? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

everywhere you want to. The ERB's aren't the end all of the process. The schools report and child's visit carries more in my experience [ Reply | More ]

2-3 Reach schools, 5-7 range schools, 3-4 safety schools. [ Reply | More ]

np; there are NO safety schools anymore. OP should apply where she wants. the score is good but not the golden ticket like many ppl assume [ Reply | More ]

no there aren't. I'm talking from experience discussing things with friends I have working in admissions. Things have changed a lot just in the last few yrs. Not as easy as it used to be. [ Reply | More ]

Well, my friends in admissions all who grew up here like me say not that much has changed just UB makes it possible for people to spread lies to support their failures and make them look like its not their failure but the system. I have done this three times as well, but maybe we are both right and both wrong [ Reply | More ]

With only the anecdotal evidence of the other families at my DC's preschool, I'd see things were MUCH tougher this year than in past years. So many good families were SO. Some of that was bad advice from PSD, but not all of it... [ Reply | More ]

If you send FC letter to any of the lower tiered schools with a 95+ erb, you bet your dc will be accepted. [ Reply | More ]

you are really dreaming. Apps are up and # of spots the same. Even at the schools that UB considers 3rd tier, ppl are getting Rj and some hold lotteries for an application because demand is up..but unfort. the schools don't have space to increase with demand [ Reply | More ]

That is so not true. We FC'd Nightingale and DD had a 99 and was waitlisted - and she is going to one of B S C. [ Reply | More ]

Nightingale is not 3rd or 4th tier school. They are practically up there with B, C, S. [ Reply | More ]

Just bec applications numbers are up, doesn't mean all those people will come to that school if they get accepted from a higher tier school. [ Reply | More ]

I read several posts about Brearley accepting low 90 and some 80 girls here. I read also Spence is getting more score conscious (so not a good candidate). Chapin - who knows? I'd say CSH and Marymount won't rule dd out bec of low 90. [ Reply | More ]

Those scores at B would be very rare indeed. And I know for a fact Sacred Heart wants 95 and up. [ Reply | More ]

Oh, I know. They want the highest of all the schools. HM is probably the only other one as picky about high 90s. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know about Spence. Of course, they want 98+, but they can't get all their girls to score that high. 98+ girls are split among all privates and not enough to fill Spence K. [ Reply | More ]

If you're not a sib or diversity, you're 98+. Without a doubt. [ Reply | More ]

if there is nothing that sets you apart, i.e. diversity, intense amounts of money, incredibly interesting career- then i doubt you'll have much of a shot at the coveted schools like Dalton ect. [ Reply | More ]
