If I went to a Sacred Heart high school in another state (part of the same system) is my DD considered a legacy for the one here? What's the reputation of Sacred Heart? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

hey, me too! I think the answer is that yes, she would be considered a legacy. I think the reputation is quite good- not quite at the Dalton level, but up there. my neighbor's girls went there and they loved it. how old is your dd? alas, we've moved to the burbs and won't be sending our girl there- which bums me out. we used to live just a couple blocks away. This is always the funniest part of the whole CSH thing. People think that because they are sort of related that for instance the one in CT is like or as good as the one in NYC so so so wrong [ Reply | More ]

They may be attached in name but the education varies a LOT [ Reply | More ]

OP: Well, first off I was only asking about legacy status. But since you're the expert on all things Sacred Heart, tell me more about this, about how much the actual education varies. [ Reply | More ]

Look at scores and admissions its like they aren't even related schools. Don't have a dd there and didn't go there but friends who have, and are experts, have said this and everyone from 'in the know' whatever that means knows this just check it out [ Reply | More ]

She didn't ask if they were on par academically. She asked if one would confer legacy status to another. [ Reply | More ]

OP: that's what I love and hate about UB. ask a question and you'll get 25 responses to a different question. LOL. But at least I know now that my education was substandard. [ Reply | More ]

Its like Jesuit colleges. There are a lot of them and they are all related but a horrible jesuit college in wisconsin is not Georgetown academically [ Reply | More ]

No it isn't. Sacred Heart is an order of schools and they are related. Your example is like saying a horrible Catholic school is like CSH. [ Reply | More ]

No jesuit colleges are an order of schools, they are not related or forced to achieve the same level of academics. Obviously you want your dc to go, so send her, but it doesn't change the truth [ Reply | More ]
