Question for any women out there who've miscarried. I had a healthy ultrasound at 8.5 weeks with heartbeat and have just discovered that I'm in the process of miscarrying. Was told the baby stop developing at 9 weeks. Has any one else had a similar experience? Just wondering if ultrasounds are as "safe" as we are lead to believe? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I had two of these. It's nothing to do with the u/s. I'm so sorry. It's very hard to accept when it happens to you even though you know it's common. FWIW, I have a great ds now. [ Reply | More ]

Ultrasounds are sound waves, that are of no harm to a baby. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. [ Reply | More ]

Happened to me first time I got pregnant. Healthy ultrasound and heartbeat, miscarried at 10 weeks. So sad and I'm so sorry for you. I have a wonderful 6 month old boy now and can tell you there is hope and joy at the other end of what you're going through.. [ Reply | More ]

My db died at 9 weeks too. Trisomy 15. I had a d&C and testing on the fetal tissue. Had nothing to do with ultrasound. The people who say, once you see the heartbeat, you are out of the woods are simply wrong. I'm sorry for you loss. If (God forbid) it happens again, consider a d&c and testing so you won't wonder why. I found it comforting to know the reason. Again, sorry. [ Reply | More ]
