any graphic designers on? i'm just getting back into doing some freelance work, and have a stationery job to send to a printer. in the past, i always sent Quark or Indesign + fonts/images. i'm wondering now if sending a PDF will be ok? is the print/color quality just as good with a PDF, or would Indesign, etc. have better results? good to know. thanks, all, for the replies. will send disk w/ Indesign files, etc.. (it's times like these that i wish a freelance-designer message board existed! i have no network of design coworkers to ask these questions to, so often come here for advice...) [ Reply | More ]

uhm, PDFs are quite acceptable nowadays for printing. Adobe put a lot of work into its PDF format. [ Reply | More ]

from op: i know that you can change the settings (screen, press, print, etc.) in Adobe programs, when exporting PDFs, but wonder about the color and print quality. Is anything lost when it's converted to PDF? [ Reply | More ]
