Ok, I'm getting desperate. I found a cat outside my home (lying in the flowerbed in front) about a month ago during that terrible heatwave. I've been fostering him in my 2nd bedroom since then, took him to the vet, had him neutered, and have paid for everything. However, I cannot keep him. Not only am I allergic to cats (though I like them), my dh and I have no room for another pet (we have a dog), and he's not the nicest cat, though a lot of that I attribute to his being cooped up all day in a small room after having been on the street. He's not feral and he can be very sweet at times. I have called EVERY SINGLE foster/rescue/shelter in NYC, Long Is, Upstate, NJ and CT - and no one has any room. I feel like i'm being punished for trying to be a good person and saving this cats life - I orignally intended to take it inside for a few days and then find it a place. I refuse to send him to the pound where he would most likely be euthanized. HELP!!! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]
