Do personal checks ever expire? As in, I have a check out that hasn't been cashed yet that I wrote in April (not to the taxman, btw). [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

they definitely expire after time, call your bank to find out exact timing. at least it's one you wrote out rather the reverse. we found 2 checks almost a year after we got married -- $500 down the drain. we felt too stupid to ask for new ones. [ Reply | More ]

it actually depends on the bank. One year, I lost a x-mas check from my grandmother (packed it in the ornament box by accident), I told her, and she said to go ahead and cash it. The bank didn't give me any hassles. [ Reply | More ]
