What age were dc when you started letting them take a bath without you being in the room? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

At 2.5yo my son slipped over in a pool that was only a few inches deep and I was amazed that he couldn't get himself out of the water and would have drowned if we hadn't seen it happen. I will not leave him unattended yet now 2.7yo [ Reply | More ]

OP: ds is 5, that is why I'm wondering. I've begun doing a few things around the apartment and checking in on him, but it still makes me a little nervous. Just wondering if there is a consensus. I think I remember taking a bath by myself at that age, once I started school. He will start K in the fall. [ Reply | More ]

ds is now 6 and can take a bath and shower by himself. It's great. I wouldn't let him before 5 1/2 though. [ Reply | More ]
