C section. Anyone schedule this with a Dr. before the due date to avoid being preggers for entire 40 weeks and avoid the huge weight gain at the end? Any advice or doctor suggestions? TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Why wait until the end? Why not have them take the baby out at 20 weeks - smaller scar! [ Reply | More ]

I had a c-section scheduled because I got pre-elampsia but not because I didn't want to be pregnant the whole 40 weeks, it's safest for babies to stay inside until the ful-term [ Reply | More ]

I had a c-section because I was induced due to thyroid problems at 38 weeks and ended up with a c-section. [ Reply | More ]

Why would anyone want this? And what credible doctor would do it? [ Reply | More ]

I got flamed for ASKING about a C-Section here. All I wanted to know was if Dr.'s only did them for medical reasons or if people did them out of convience. And forger it if you write you had an Emergency C-Section, you will get flamed and schooled on the difference between Emergency C-Section and Regular C-Sction. Who thought it'd be such a button pusher. [ Reply | More ]

You didn't ask about a c-section. You asked about a c-section to avoid weight gain. See the difference? [ Reply | More ]

Run from any doctor who agrees to this. Why subject yourself to major surgery and risk the complications to you and to db just to shave a few weeks and a few pounds of your pregnancy? [ Reply | More ]

the earlier the baby is born the longer it takes it to sleep through the night. This is not a compromise that will serve you - or your dc to be - well. [ Reply | More ]

most Ob's schedule repeat C-sections or 1st for a breech baby at 39 weeks. There is still a minimal risk of immature lungs, then NICU, at 38 weeks, which most will not take [ Reply | More ]

I delivered early due to gestational diabetes and breech presentation. Second one repeat C at 38 weeks...had GD too. I so wish I could have delivered vaginally. [ Reply | More ]
