(I replied below.) If you are willing to leave downtown Brooklyn, Applewood in South Park Slope is my favorite restaurant. Period. (They have a drink menu with a few specialty drinks. Try the Manhattan!) [ Reply | More ]

The husband/wife who own it are really great, too. They are both trained chefs. Opened it together. He runs the back (kitchen) and she runs the front. You can tell both from the staff and the details on the menu how much they really love what they do. Even the little things are always perfect there. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know what above means but Saul is great. The tasting menu is awesome and makes for a really romantic relaxing dinner. (The folks at Michelin (sp) got this one right.) [ Reply | More ]

In Bklyn Heights there is Noodle Pooding, Jack the Horse, La Petit Maison or Henry's End. [ Reply | More ]

I love the Grocery, also liked Chestnut though. Thought Saul was ok but overrated, and Lunetta as well. [ Reply | More ]

Best mussels I ever had was at this giant cave of a place near NYU. It doesn't exist anymore. It was Belgian. Also had great mushrooms. ANYONE REMEMBER THE NAME OF IT? [ Reply | More ]
