DH (and his mom) has decided that we're going on vacation with his parents for 2 weeks in Sept. I am pg but they don't know yet (only 6 wks). I like his parents but I'm not sure spending 2 weeks with them driving around France while i'm expecting is going to be a good idea... help!!! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Try to keep an open mind. Traveling w/family can be difficult, but if you're moving around a lot, seems like it could be fun, give everyone lots to talk about. That said, it would be better if you had kids, then ILs can babysit. but it might set a nice tone for your relationship if you can enjoy the trip. give you nice memories? but I adore my inlaws and am taking trip to greece next summer w/them. I love my inlaws but they are very obsessive types, and I know they will freak out when they learn I am pregnant. They were completely obsessed when dh's sister was pregnant, convinced something was going to be wrong with the baby for absolutely no reason (there wasn't) and I KNOW they'll make the trip difficult for me by telling me I should rest, etc, even if I am completely fine [ Reply | More

I wish. basically 1 wk is Paris staying in their apartment, driving to Belgium and South of France with them. DH and I can't afford to stay in a hotel with the baby coming [ Reply | More
