what do you do w/ a nanny who doesn't follow your rules? i'm usually home for db's nap and he always goes down w/ no crying/a few mins of crying. i told her to put db down for nap & let him cry for up to 15 mins. she didn't. she has a different philosophy than me and does it out of the goodness of her heart. she won't let him cry or she let him cry for longer than 15 min. My guess is she thinks the crying is making you think that she sucks as a nanny. [ Reply | More ]

no, she didn't let him cry at all. he went to sleep 2 hours later than he normally does for a morning nap. he was up for 4 hours, usually he's up for no more than 2. [ Reply | More ]

op: she's great as a nanny, but this one area sucks! i can't always be home for his naps, though now i will try to (which will annoy me). [ Reply | More ]

then you need to lay down the law. It is not unreasonable of you to expect. [ Reply | More ]

you're obviously pretty good at it with db. So many mom's come here and b*tch and moan about how their kids won't go down, and then we find out that they won't let their kid cio ever. You're doing great, and you're right. If you let it go on, it may spill over into bedtime as well. [ Reply | More ]

my worst fear is that it spills over to bedtime and continues after she leaves. this is my 3rd dcs and the other 2 are fabulous sleepers! [ Reply | More ]

she was my baby nurse originally and is now here for a few months from another country. i can't just let her loose. i guess i have to implore her to follow my rules. she seriously thinks she's his grandmother visiting. oy. [ Reply | More ]
