my dh wants to take our dc on a vacation - we are newly separated, he has a very young girlfriend - i haven't been pushing him away from the kids, but i am just not ready to have him take them away on a vacation especially with his girlfriend (dc are not aware of her just yet and it is going to be very hard on them when they finally know). how can i knock some sense into his head? I am sorry. Is there anything in the divorce about that ? Can you have his family exert any pressure ? [ Reply | More ]

is he engaged with her, with her for a very long time? If not I wouldn't bring her into the picture unless they are in it for the long haul [ Reply | More ]

I would def. tell him no way in HELL is he going to take the kids on vacation with his new flavor of the month. He needs to think rationally and remember the kids are still going through your separation and don't need to meet daddy's new friend now. He needs to grow up [ Reply | More ]

I would put a call into the lawyer ASAP..because that is so unhealthy for the kids. He needs to not play house with his new fling and think about how this would be on the kids [ Reply | More ]

Friend just had this happen and there is no legal recourse (she tried everything). The worst part is that DCs will not mind having her around - may well enjoy her since she is goingto make a huge effort with them. [ Reply | More ]

All you can do is ask DH to make this a father/children trip and to wait to introduce the girlfriend. Hope he complies. [ Reply | More ]

well the hard part is that his gf is someone our children have known for quite some time so i dont know what to do - he insists it will be fine and they won't even know that he is with her - he will just say she is there to go to the beach too [ Reply | More ]

he sounds like a prince. I think - unfortunately - that you and your atty will probably become very close. I am sorry. Make the call though (IMHO) and be pro-active for your kids. [ Reply | More ]

you probably can prevent this unless you signed a separation agreement that says otherwise. once you are divorced, though, it will unfortunately be out of your hands. [ Reply | More ]
