I am a prosecutor (white collar crime) and have seen many marriages caught in the cross-hairs of (usually but not always) the DH's criminality. Most of the time, the wives turn a blind eye to the details of how DH is bringing home all that money. Birds of a feather flock together. I know my own DH's morality, and I believe the vast majority of couples intimately understand their partner's morality (or lack thereof). Sometimes it's convenient to pretend that they don't really know. But they do. [ Reply | More

^^^ Anyway, to answer the OP's question, I cannot even imagine finding myself in this situation because I know my DH would never do something like that. But if I did, I could stay married to him if he truly repented and accepted responsibility. If the DH the OP is describing has been tied up in trials for years, that's the clearest sign there is that he refuses to accept responsbility for his actions.
