Anyone have a dyslexic child? At what age were they diagnosed? 5yo DS is very bright (99 ERB), but isn't reading yet, reverses certain word sounds (aminal not animal), just now settling on left handedness, mirror writes. I read that reversals are common until 6yo. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That is totally normal & reading at that age has nothing to do with intelligence [ Reply | More ]

ITA normal. Dyslexia really can't be truly diagnosed until around 6.5-7. Most 5yos are not reading. Signed mom of kid with dev delays [ Reply | More ]

Most 5 yo dyslexics don't read yet so I am guessing you are safe. [ Reply | More ]
