sticker chart with rewards, or threats (no ____ tomorrow unless you stay in your room. Threats always worked better for me. [ Reply | More ]

he won't stay in his room without company and I stay with him for over an hour while he falls asleep, then when I think he is sleeping I leave and he wakes up and screams [ Reply | More ]

none. it started after returning from vacation where we were in the same room and he would insist I sit with him while he fell asleep, which I did and he did without a problem, now at home, he keeps waking to check if I am still there even after a long time and if he wakes and I am not in room he shrieks. Ugh, this happened to us and DD would get sick/bring up if we left her. DH is anti-CIO. Anyway, her thing was she became anticrib and needed company. We got her a big (full size) bed and I lie with her until she falls asleep, then leave. It's a pain, and maybe I haven't solved your issue, but she mainly sleeps through. [ Reply | More ]

np: I would suggest putting him in a bed. When he gets out tell him nicely the first time something like "it's time to sleep. You stay in bed. Good night." Anytime he gets up after that just keep walking back w/o talking to him at all. It could take a huge effort on your part and many times doing it, but if you are consistent it should work. I can tell you what willwork, but I bet you won't do it. And you need to do this before he gets his bed or life will be relaly tough. Put him to bed and follow your normal routine. Then leave. Put on your favorite tv show. Let him figure out how ot fll asleep by himself. it will take 5-7 nights if you are strong and don't go back in, at all. Other wise, just put his crib in your room.
