I have flown about 10 4 hour flight with my dd. Day is easier and doesn't disrupt the routine as much. I started getting her a seat at 20 months or so. [ Reply | More ]

I fly to LA frequently and always, always get db a seat. she is now 5 years old but even when she was in baby carrier I got her a seat. It's just not comfy to sit with a baby on your lap for 6-8 hours depending on delays. [ Reply | More ]

If you can afford it, of course it is better. I couldn't so, I didn't until she was bigger. [ Reply | More ]

if you can afford it, of course. If you cannot it is not a big deal. [ Reply | More ]

agree, get a seat, you will be happy you did, even if she sits in your lap some of the time, it will make a big difference. [ Reply | More ]

hmm... we have flown with our kids to CA and to Europe since they were 6 wks. Get her a seat since she can sit in a car seat onboard (our little babies have sat in the bulkhead). Doesn't matter so much when you fly - especially to the west coast [ Reply | More ]

the best flight would be a flight that arrives relatively late. That way the bed routine is not disturbed too much. About getting a seat that entirely depends on your and the child. We never booked a seat for our children while they were under 2 and it was fine. [ Reply | More ]
