Sorry, this isn't super helpful because it's not my direct experience, but I have a friend living in England. She lives in Surrey. She likes it there, but she had been there for a while already. I would think having kids in school makes it easier to meet people? Where are you thinking of going? [ Reply | More ]

Yes - we live in Paris, moved here when ds was 7mos, now have a dd who is 1, and ds is 3.5. We love it - dh is half French and the kids are dual citizens too (and i can get my citizenship in one more year). Great expat community here, I actually have more friends than I did in NYC because of that, wonderful opportunities for the whole family. [ Reply | More ]
