My son was born December 13. We are in NY. I believe the school cut-off is Dec 31. Will I be forced to send him to school with kids born Jan 1, even if I don't think he is ready? (I saw a "no more redshirting in NY" comment somewhere.) What if he goes to private school? If he's ready, I'm all for it, but boys in my family tend to develop very late and if that's the case here I'll feel so sorry for him being 11 months younger than his classmates AND shy and small, etc. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

if he goes to public school he will be the youngest in his class as the cut off is Dec. 31st..you cannot hold him back in Public. IF he goes to private school then he will be on the older side since the cut off is Aug. 31st [ Reply | More ]
