i just feel like i don't have any close friends left. of my 3 closest friends, one moved out of the city (although, somewhat strangely, in my opinion, does not have and does not want children) and is bad about keeping in touch, another is a partner at a law firm and always busy (also currently childless) and the last just hasn't been calling lately (she has a new baby; previously lost a preemie and had a very difficult pregnancy - i called her at least weekly throughout and am feeling very down that now that things are better - altho busier - for her - i don't hear from her). I am that way too. I have four best friends and at the time I was the only one with a dc. One of them moved up north (about 7 hours away), one lives in the city and the other one lives about 20 minutes away from me. There are times that I talk to the one up north maybe once a month if that, but I'm always making the call. The other two is maybe every week to every other week. [ Reply | More

Sorry wasn't done. The only thing I can suggest is if you really care about these woman, you will have to be the one that makes the call all of the time. Even though it can be really frustrating at times, if you want these woman in your life you sometimes have suck it up and call. [ Reply | More

My closest friend, at least once a week. But we live in different cities so we don't see each other as much as we'd like. My other best friend is across the country. We email multiple times a week but hardly ever talk on the phone. [ Reply | More

Once every couple weeks, either by phone or email, since she is in another state. The few friends I have in the city I try to get together with once a month or so...and db hasn't even been born yet. Just so hard to stay in touch. We also have a weekend house outside the city so that makes it harder to get together... [ Reply | More
