so you think, for example, if someone fires you b/c she wants to give your job to a friend, that there will be no comeuppance? you're just screwed? that person will never have consequences for being an a**hole? b/c to me, there has to be some sort of final sorting b/c it's like a pacifier--i need that security! i need to know that mean people will somehow get it in the end. i do believe in karma, but here's the catch: we may not be able to see the way that our actions come back around. it's not instantaneous and clear-cut. so when somebody does something totally shitty, i know it will come back to them, but i might not ever know how. I think of it more like, when someone is an a-hole to me, or a jerk in general, most likely they are an unhappy person - perhaps with a not-so-good or maybe even non-existent family life. That person most likely isn't going home every night really happy and satisfied with themselves. And I also try to remember that I am generally happy, have great friends, and a loving family. Now, of course that doesn't always work, and there's nothing like getting to witness karma in action, but it's worth a try to think about it. [ Reply | More
