We now know why people send their younger children to sleepaway at an earlier age than their older child. My younger ds does not know what to do with himself with his brother away. He's been sad and irritable every since his brother went to camp. Anyone have the same experience? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

LOL! Opposite problem in our house: #2 loved having the house to himself in the summertime and was anti-sleepaway camp for years and years (even though #1 thinks it's the best ever). It's funny b/c #2 is loud and gets plenty of attention during the year, but I think he really liked being on his own for those 7 weeks each year. #2 "aged out" of day camp (which he loved) last year and we made him go away this summer (and I've been told that he's doing well!). BTW, DH and I love the quiet (although, of course, we miss DC)! :) [ Reply | More ]

Wow - 7 weeks alone. Do you still have stuff to talk about? [ Reply | More ]

With DH? We'll see! (I'm also enjoying all the time alone while he's at work!) [ Reply | More ]
