My friend (teacher at a private school) said my dc's school (another private) is academically rigorous. I'm not sure what she means by that. Does it mean the school is a pressure cooker? Or academically accelerated/just good? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

NP: Same with Hunter. Elementary school is not a pressure cooker but if a school is "academically rigorous" in high school, then it almost certainly is highly competitive. [ Reply | More

I made it through and didn't jump through a window. Yes, it was very difficult but the pressure depended on the dc. My dc is v. much like me in this respect and her first HS year was more than manageable [ Reply | More
