Had a c-section with #1. Due with #2 in Sept and want to schedule the c-section. Is it possible that my insurance could force me to try a VBAC? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

uh, it's usually mothers who want to try for a vaginal birth, and why wouldn't you? if you're actually under the impression that the risk of uterine rupture outweighs the risks of major surgery, you're sadly mistaken and need to do some serious research. [ Reply | More ]

your insurance co. does not want you to have a vbac. And how would they force you? have they forced you to have other medical procedures. I've had a VBAC, try keeping an open mind. it was a breeze compared to my section. [ Reply | More ]

OP: I've been reading about women being denied medical coverage due to 'elective' c-sections. I was worried that maybe they wouldn't cover a c that wasn't emergent (like I had to have for #1). I'm scared to have a VBAC - my labor with #1 was long, horrible, and didn't turn out well. [ Reply | More ]

a second section isn't considered elective, it's standard operating procedure for most obs. [ Reply | More ]
