I don't know why....I know that rear facing is always safest--maybe at around a year kids start getting too big to sit comfortably in that position? [ Reply | More ]

DD was about the same at her 1 year bday. We kept her rear facing for another couple of weeks, but then she started getting v. carsick, so that's when we turned her. Would've gone longer rear facing (a few more weeks or months) for extra safety, but she decided for us. . . [ Reply | More ]

Rear facing is safest. If it doesn't bother DB, leave him rear-facing. Once he starts to complain about the view, then turn him around. It's about the neck in a front or side-impact crash. [ Reply | More ]
