Central Park is definitely the better zoo. It gets crowded, so show up when it hopens. What's PT? [ Reply | More ]

Oh! I thought you were taking your physical therapist! :) PT isn't the greatest to the Zoo, but then you'll be in Central Park, which is a great destination in itself. CP Zoo has a good cafe, and Prospect Park Zoo has some lousy vending machines. [ Reply | More ]

Have a great trip. Make sure to see the Polar Bears. They are magnificent. Also, the "children's zoo," which is in a slightly different location, is worth the visit. It's the best part of the zoo, IMO. [ Reply | More ]

Fine for a local trip with little ones, but nothing special. [ Reply | More ]

I think Prospect Park: it's a manageable size, has a great petting zoo, and is close to the carousel and Lefferts House. [ Reply | More ]

I'd like to do this one too, maybe another day. Sounds similar to our Staten Island Zoo: small, manageable, great petting zoo, very adorable. [ Reply | More ]

Never been to the Staten Island Zoo. The Prospect Park Zoo is great because it's so close to the Brooklyn Museum and the Botanic Garden. True, the food options stink, but we always picnic (or get hotdogs) in the park--much better than the crowded cafe at the Central Park Zoo. [ Reply | More ]

Thanks for the tip. I'll get there this summer too. We can only do the SI Zoo and SI Children's Museum so many times (both of which I highly recommend, esp the museum, just FYI!) [ Reply | More ]

Good to know. The aquarium on Coney Island is also a great stop. [ Reply | More ]

I vote for Prospect Park Zoo. It's a great little zoo. But bring some food for lunch. [ Reply | More ]
