Here's something I'm trying to understand. The DOE has made an effort to centralize school placements to that parents can't game the system, in an effort to focus families on their local schools. But this centralization also means that as a parent (and even as a school administrator or teacher) you have little control over certain short-term decisions that can have a big impact on your school. This year's G&T is an excellent example. Major, centralized decisions were made (and revised) and parents were powerless. A number were only advertised after the fact, if at all. Is there anyone else out there who feels that this is a serious problem? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]
