our 19 mo ds was recently diagnosed with pdd, apraxia and motor dyspraxia. he needs intensive therapy. anyone have any idea if insurance will cover some of early intervention in NJ (not covered here- based on sliding scale). That, in addition to private therapy (which is a fortune and some therapists don't take insurance), should be enough to really hurt us financially. any advice or suggestions? obviously, we want the best for our ds but we need to stay afloat as well. thanks. I have no idea about the insurance but get the therapists involved to teach you some of the techniques they are using so that you can continue their work at home. GL [ Reply | More ]

I know EI is on a sliding scale in NJ, that should get you some. Also, I'd contact your insurance co. to find out what they provide. Sorry, I'm in NY. [ Reply | More ]

you should also post this at the other site. There some NJ special needs moms over there that might be able to help you. [ Reply | More ]
