So I hope you are now going to bash them as everyone is bashing the 'bad' years for the the TTs in manhattan. Or, is your comment in support of St. Anns because you are a hypocrite. [ Reply | More ]

I don't know anything about St. Anns but a number of those schools are actually very highly selective. Ivys are not the be all and end all. signed, mom with 2 ivy leage degrees. [ Reply | More ]

I cannot believe that a list with Amherst, Brown, UPenn, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, and Oxford on it can elicit these kinds of responses. [ Reply | More ]

You people are strange. If children are being counselled to follow their interests and talents, and to choose schools that are in line with their personalities, the list of schools they attend should be diverse! [ Reply | More ]

College placement has more to do with the student than the school. Honestly, people, just because your kid is in a good prep school doesn't mean they will be able to just coast into a good college. MOST of those matriculated into those colleges, by the way, came from regular public schools. [ Reply | More ]

I must be an Ivy grad isiot because I think this is a great well-rounded list. Looks like diff kids applied and were accepted at schools of differing strengths and make-ups. What's not to be proud of ? [ Reply | More ]

General Topics 07.04.08, 06:52 AM Flag

A friend's child there did one-on-one math work with a teacher of an older grade. Some acceleration was on this child-by-child basis, although the overall content of classwork seemed sophisticated. [ Reply | More ]

St. Ann's is a good school, but it, like many of the privates, makes sure to recruit excellent students from public schools and weed out mediocre performers for the last couple of years. This bumps up their college recruitment stats. Despicable, eh? [ Reply | More ]
