How do you know you aren't producing enough? Tips - keep well hydrated, let the baby feed as often and for as long as they want. Your milk supply should adapt to being exactly the amount your dc needs. How long are they feeding for now and how often? GL [ Reply | More ]

Been there. I pumped for 7 months until it was just out. You've got to 1) get an Lactation Consultant even though they are expensive and 2) if I had to do it over again, I would rent a hospital grade pump. You want to keep your supply up as much as you possibly can while you are still establishing. Worst case scenario: baby will learn to suck and swallow over time, but not if you don't have anything left to feed. [ Reply | More ]

Drink water. There are other remedies that are recommended by lactation specialists - like mother's tea (at health food stores), Guniness Beer, and some others. Real Birth has a great breastfeeding support group (or it did) - run by lactation specialists who are great. [ Reply | More ]

Check out kellymom.com--it has a lot of very helpful info about breastfeeding issues. Also, find a good lactation consultant. Something you could do right now to help is to eat lots of oatmeal/oat products. [ Reply | More ]

I took the hers asifotedah and it was amazing. My DS had no issue with the milk tasting differently and I would do it again in a minute. [ Reply | More ]

and don't worry... it will all happen if you stay with it and keep BF. Your body will make what DB needs. [ Reply | More ]

i had the same problem as i had c-section (heard it has to do with how soon the milk comes?) i ended up breast feeding for 9 months and it was wonderful. keep trying, it will work out, i promise. i have a friend who gave up and i wish she hadnt. her baby is very thin now, in the 5th percentile for his age (again, not sure if it has to do with that but just saying...)
