Spence has not updated it's college placement posting on its website since 2006!! Their placement in 2007 and 2008 was very embarassing, that's why [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Stop. This is absurd. It is a fabulous school. We loved and it and would have loved to send dd there. We liked it better than Brearley and BTW, she was rejected at Spence, but not at Brearley. Sounds like you have an axe to grind with Brearley. FWIW, when people use 'and she was rejected at Brearley' as a parting word in defense of their great school it only highlights that everyone views brearley as the gold standard. You defeat the purpose of what you are trying to do. [ Reply | More

I am saying people who are dying to prove it is not that good would be better off not saying such silly things like OR above. Why mention whether or not a dc was rejected at a certain school and accepted at B, why not just say Spence is rerat or Chapin is great - they are and using Brearley as a comparison ruins their point and lessens people belief that S or C is really better if people feel the need to compare all the time [ Reply | More

2008 placements were relatively weaker across the board. Unprecedent number of applicants. This trend will continue for a good while. Placement in you called 2nd tier would be more akin to 3rd tier etc. in a year like 2008. The fact is that all the top universities really go after stellar public school kids these days.
