Is it worth holding on to all of ds's old baby books to use for him to practice reading when he starts? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Some, but not all. I was surprised to see on my 1st grader's reading list that Goodnight Moon was considered a "G" book (which, when you are ready, will mean something. G is basically middle of the road for 1st grade) [ Reply | More ]

I thought it was, but it isn't. When dc wants to read, they want plot. So keep them for keepsakes if you want, but they won't be much good for learning to read. [ Reply | More ]
