My ds has been "playing" with other kids since he was under a year and I think it's been really good for him. He's comfortable around new people, has learned to share, etc. 2 now. [ Reply | More ]

I think it's good for them to interact with other kids, but that can happen at the playground--doesn't have to be scheduled play dates. [ Reply | More ]

Until 2 or 3 they are really just parallel playing but if you like the other mom and the kids are the same age, it's great for them to start learning to share etc [ Reply | More ]

np: My ds spent time with other kids from a young age and even during the parallel play stage he would talk about them. He'd pick up the phone and babble and Id ask who he was talking to and he'd name one of them [ Reply | More ]

It's more for you than them at that age. That said I think they learn from being around other kids. [ Reply | More ]
