Do 2 yos understand the concept of birthday and b'day party for themselves? Due date around dc's 2nd b'day and wondering if a party will be missed. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Of course they don't. Parties for children under 4 are really only to feed the parents' egos. [ Reply | More ]

No. My ds loved having a party but he didn't have a clue it was for him. Just get a few balloons, a party hat, a cup cake with a candle in it and sing happy birthday and your 2yo will probably be just as happy as if they had a party. [ Reply | More ]

We actually had a 'party' as described above for my birthday mainly for my 2yos entertainment. [ Reply | More ]

Your dc will be fine without a party. Save yourself the stress! You can have one next year. I don't plan to throw a party for dd until she's three or older. [ Reply | More ]
