If you have specific concerns ie exact things she has said/done then talk to his/her boss [ Reply | More ]

i notice that if a kid interrupts her while she is talking she will say, i have to finish our morning schedule. she always wants them to use the inside voice, even when changing into their clothes for swim. its camp, its supposed to be fun. also, as i mentioned she told on dc, i am not happy with you. these are 3yr olds. I think mentioning, with examples, her attitude towards the kids should be sufficient for the boss person to deal with it. [ Reply | More ]

I agree I think its freaky for kids that young to be at "camp" its ah called babysitting...its like when people call daycare "school" lets call a spade a spade [ Reply | More ]

Where else are you going to find babysitting for the summer though? Few nannies want a short term position. And daycares don't open new slots for the summer. [ Reply | More ]

My ds's preschool is closed in the summer and I WOH. So his options are camp (swimming, boating, sports, arts and crafts, etc) or a hodge-podge of chilcare arrangements crafted based on the availability of the adults, not the needs of the child. [ Reply | More ]

Not in daycare. Daycare is for the convenience and indulgence of the mother, not for the benefit of the child. [ Reply | More ]

How am I being indulged? What are my alternatives? And he DOES benefit from daycare. It's a good social experience and he likes the activities. [ Reply | More ]

np: A good daycare teaches as well as nurtures. FWIW, my kid has been in daycare since infancy and was accepted at Anderson for K. I attribute a lot of that to the wonderful things he learned at daycare, or as I call it "school". [ Reply | More ]
