DS is college aged and was diagnosed as dyslexic at 16. How do adults cope with this. There are all sorts of accommodations in high school and college but I'm worried about the obstacles he'll face as an adult. He goes to Upenn and while he loves the challenges his cum has been impacted. When he interviews for a job should he mention his disability? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Don't mention the disability. The problem is that employers only have to provide "reasonable accommodation" for his disability. He won't be given additional time to complete assignments, or his own office instead of a loud cube. Can someone at the college's office for disabled students help him identify what accommodation he will need and what some of the most accommodating employers are? [ Reply | More ]
