We're coming up on nanny's first anniversary with us. She is fabulous, and we (and dd) love her. I know it's common to give a raise on the first anniv, but we are already paying at the top of the pay scale ($15/hr for one toddler, Bklyn Heights area). If I set a precedent of raising $1/hr every year, this could get ridiculous. Is it OK to give a week's salary to commemorate the anniversary? I want to do the right thing. What do others do? What would you get as a raise yearly if you held that position? 3-5%? [ Reply | More ]
