potty training btdt moms (of boys, if it matters): any ideas how to gently encourage ds beyond asking for a diaper to poop in or waiting for his night time diaper to poop? He's set with peeing, but we've been stuck in this other rut for several weeks. I don't want to push, really, but would love to start guiding him towards giving it up. Thanks. this is the most common p/t issue. It just takes time. If you KNOW he's having them at night see if you can work on his schedule and get him to have one during the day while keeping underwear on him - one poop in undies and he'll want the potty [ Reply | More

we had one poop in undies one morning, and I think that's what started the diaper thing. Until yesterday he was in a diaper for naps, too. But now he basically won't let you take off his diaper in the morning if he knows he's going to poop, or, like I said, waits until bed and then poops two minutes before the light goes out.
