I don't see how making the whole thing public gets her in any better place with the judge. Sure, it is a good card to play to see if he will settle, but once he wouldn't, she should have agreed to keep it private. Having the whole thing in the press only affects court of public opinion, and not actual outcome of custody dispute. Bad, bad move for the kids. [ Reply | More

Yes, but what if it were your neighbor (and not someone famous) and she was wronged and then went around telling everyone -- her kids' teachers, her kids' parents' friends -- and she talked about it in such a way that it was impossible to shield the kids from it? Making it public only makes people think better of her, and less of him. The judge knows the facts whether it is public or private and it will not affect the outcome of the case. Her only rationale for making it public is to punish him or to make herself look better in the press. [ Reply | More

I don't think this is making her look good. Not at all. It makes her look like she'd do anything for revenge. She's also had four husbands and has publicly bad-mouthed all of them. Especially the father of her son - the one she married on a ski slope. She has made him out to be a con artist. She also said publicly that Billy Joel cheated on her, and is/was a drunk. The children know. I think its odd that people make this assumption that the children don't hear things and know whats going on.
