are there different gen ed classes, as in do elementary schools hand-pick the smartest kids for one class and leave everyone else in another? this would be the kids who are not in g&t or special ed. thanks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

But the better publics do put a lot of effort into balancing their classes starting from 1st grade on, to get a good learning dynamic. Not enough schools do that, but the desirable ones do. I guess that's part of why they are desirable. [ Reply | More

Our local PS do that (though not "officially"). And some parents (mostly the parents having their kids in that class) refer that class as "top class (considered 2nd best after G&T class)." [ Reply | More
