are there different gen ed classes, as in do elementary schools hand-pick the smartest kids for one class and leave everyone else in another? this would be the kids who are not in g&t or special ed. thanks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

But the better publics do put a lot of effort into balancing their classes starting from 1st grade on, to get a good learning dynamic. Not enough schools do that, but the desirable ones do. I guess that's part of why they are desirable. [ Reply | More ]

Our local PS do that (though not "officially"). And some parents (mostly the parents having their kids in that class) refer that class as "top class (considered 2nd best after G&T class)." [ Reply | More ]
