my son rocks back anf forth, a lot, he is 4 and seems normal in every other way, he won't qualify for services, how do i stop this behavior, without making him feel like he is weird? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

that's cute! He might be a musical genius. My guess is, it is self-soothing - he recalls being rocked as a baby and it calms him. he'll grow out of it [ Reply | More ]

he's perfectly normal and healthy, but he rocks? i'd ignore. he'll grow out of it and its self-soothing. [ Reply | More ]

he probably won't do it in school. remember, many kids have personal "tics" that get them teased, and it isn't such a bad thing to be teased a bit - it might make him stop [ Reply | More ]

its probably going to jsut make him self-conscious about it if you make it a big thing. and when he's busy in school, do you stil think he'll do it? [ Reply | More ]

i'd stil ignore. if it becomes an issue in school, then yo can revisit the issue. (this is assuming the child is fine oterwise) [ Reply | More ]
