I was diagnosed with shingles last week. Doctors and others keep asking me if there is any stress in my life, which I know is a causal factor. I'm a single mom, and I don't usually think of my life as stressful, but I guess there is a constant low-level stress, punctuated by periods of, well, more stress. Of course, it would have also helped if I ever went to sleep at night..... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

shingles have many precipitating factors - stress is just one of them, and its hardly the case that most cases of shingles are "caused" by stress. [ Reply | More ]

I think it's usually after an illness or if your immune system is compromised in some way, OR if you are worn down. Stress is often a precipitating factor, as I understand it. At any rate, I guess I was run down enough without the stress. [ Reply | More ]
