My dd is now 6mo (wasn't colicky, but definitely not the easiest baby.) It's my first dc and find myself wondering...when does it get easier? She is still cranky a lot of the time. She's happy right after she eats and for a little while afterwards, but then it's a constant battle to keep her happy. Is this normal? Is it just her personality? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

just her personality. it will pass, promise. my ds was so difficult till after 12 mo or so, so much better around 15 mo. just hang on and focus on all the good stuff and keep telling yourself "it's a phase", it's gotten me through a lot [ Reply | More ]

I was just thinking this myself and I have 2 kids...but it goes in cycles. Some days and/or months will be great and then you'll have a hard few weeks. [ Reply | More ]

what is her sleep like? i find a rested baby to be a happy baby. at 6 mo, she should do 3 naps/day for around 1 hr and 11-13 hrs at night [ Reply | More ]

I found both my dcs underwent sort of "personality changes" when they learned to crawl a/o walk -- they both were so much happier when they were more mobile! (tho db#2 is generally an easy baby anyway). OTOH, my dc#1 is now really difficult -- she's almost 5 -- so it could just be personality. But (maybe) you'll get better at dealing with it as times passes. GL [ Reply | More ]
