it's hard to take either way. just move as far away from the noise as you can. take a shower. if it goes on for 15 more mins, go in and soothe again. [ Reply | More ]

teething? (I know, I know...but it's totally possible! I would not CIO unless I ruled out teething first.) [ Reply | More ]

My dd screamed like that at 12 mos b/c she had an ear infection. But if she doesn't seem sick, maybe she just didn't get enough sleep today; 30 mins doesn't sound like much at all. I say go in and console as necessary if this is unusual for her. If it becomes a pattern, then think about CIOing in a few days. [ Reply | More ]

You know, we all go through stuff and get to vent. She may just be in a bad mood or anxious about something we adults couldn't understand. The screaming could just be cathartic since she can't have a glass of wine and chat about it with her girlfriends ! [ Reply | More ]

Yes, sounds like an ear infection. I know they can get them without any other symptoms--and the pain is awful when they lay down. [ Reply | More ]
