Oh oh oh make it stop, someone please. 2 hours at playdate with 3 other mommies all of them arguing over which preschool is 'best' 'better' and which is 'tt' and will get their dcs into a top private. K-12. When will people understand that pre-Ks are all the same there isn't a more academic one and not a single one is a guarantee of anything. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

ITA, though I (secretly) think the preschool I sent our DC to was a bit sub-standard. I think DD would have benefited from *some* academics. (Don't flame, she taught herself to read and thinks nothing is more fun than doing workbooks.) [ Reply | More

That is the biggest myth. TT prek doesn't help you get into TT private. Only a handfull of most $$$$$ families actually benefit from it who need the PSD to wink and nod to TT DOA ("yes, they contribute $$$"). Other kids are at the risk of being brokered down. [ Reply | More

Funnily enough, I think it was our PSD's LACK of connections that got DD into her school. The school is highly sought after, but because it is far from our home we never put it in our top 3. If the schoool had a better relationship with our PSD, they would have been able to read her better. [ Reply | More
