Collegiate posted their 2008 matriculation on the website. Brearley still has 2007 to 2003 or so data, but heard through the grapevine that B didn't have a good year this year. But to be fair, C is the only boys school that is TT and B has to share smart girls with 2 other TT SS schools. So I suppose if we want to compare boys vs girls, then we have to add Spence and Chapin to the record. Chapin must be happy about 2008 bec they updated their data to include 2008. [ Reply | More ]

The updating (work at one of these schools) has nothing to do with pride or humiliation, it is admin. Up and down for these schools every year for decades. Brearley is still considered equal with Collegiate for 'top dog spot' [ Reply | More ]

I do doubt very much that Brearley is concerned about their 130 year reputation being drowned in a lackluster year [ Reply | More ]

LOL. Do a search. Many people prefer Chapin to Brearley. And, it sounds like you would be surprised to know that Chapin historically had better exmissions than Brearley. [ Reply | More ]

I preferred Chapin over Brearley when I went through it for dd, but you know how B moms are. [ Reply | More ]

BTW, nothing she said seems like she's own a rampage. She just made an observation. You seem overly sensitive, "public school" mom. [ Reply | More ]

Collegiate has a larger graduating class but maybe there %s are better. Well, Brearley/Collegiate has always been pretty synonymous with excellence so either one is fine with me [ Reply | More ]

np. What numbers are you talking about? The idiotic WSJ report put them just barely ahead of B in college placement because they sent 1 more student to one of the "top" schools than B did. Whoop-di-do. Ditto with Brearley being a spot ahead of Chapin. The difference in their real numbers is tiny, not meaningful at all. [ Reply | More ]
