I just got picked up by a British Lord via email... I sent him something for work and he invited me out to dinner on his next visit to NY... does he just not care that I'm married (clearly evident in my sig) [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Maybe he's deluding into thinking that since you worked together, you can have a working dinner without thinking he's trying to pick you up [ Reply | More ]

that's what I was wondering... he's actually a very famous and important person (I googled him of course) - a Queen's Counsel and all sorts of other awards from various European govts. Actually would be a great contact for my DH... maybe we can both ahve dinner with him! [ Reply | More ]

Have you never had a work dinner, seriously? I hope you know it's not appropriate to invite DH along. [ Reply | More ]

Well, he could just be asking for a friendly work dinner. But if you are assuming that he knows you are married because you have a hyphenated name, remember they are common surnames in England. [ Reply | More ]

Did he write something like "leave your knickers at home" ? What makes you think he wants more than a business dinner ? [ Reply | More ]

Wow, lots of snarky people on tonight! I'm curious what he said that made you think it was anything more than a biz dinner though. [ Reply | More ]
