Brookside Place School in Cranford, NJ.....the active parents (you know the ones who are important, volunteer in the PTA and otherwise show they actually care about their children) can get anything we want. [ Reply | More ]

The parents who are active in the PTA should get more, I mean we care about our children and about the school. So if our kids want a good teacher or the lead in the play or anything else, they should get it. The other mothers are teh ones who refuse to be involved and obviously really don't care about their children. [ Reply | More ]

if they truly cared about their children they'd find a way. Either quit their jobs or get involved parttime. We have mothers who are involved around their jobs. Parents who do not volunteer in PTA activities do not care abotu the school and their kids and their children should not get anything special. [ Reply | More ]

People can find ways to work around this. At Brookside we pride ourselves on our closeknit group of families and our great volunteer parents. In fact I do not let my children socialize with the children of parents who do not volunteer. That way they know the importance of involved parents. [ Reply | More ]

My child is the one going to school not me. I do not feel the need to follow my child around all day. I would rather them be independent and leave the teachers to do the job that they were trained to do. [ Reply | More ]

I am a dedicated volunteer. The only person who would right this is a bitter person who thinks her career is more important than her children. [ Reply | More ]

If you didn't think you could get preferential treatment for your child I think you might not be so keen on volunteering. I bet the teachers love you! [ Reply | More ]
